Dr. Jacqueline Bamfo has years of experience working in maternity in both the NHS and the private sector. She believes that all women and their families deserve the best evidence-based care during their pregnancy, birth and postnatal time. She has cared for women and parents-to-be for most of her professional life and providing a high quality of care is her priority. She is a woman and this gives us a unique insight into the needs of women.
Dr Bamfo has a mission is to provide world-class comprehensive pregnancy scans for pregnant women and their partners and families. We have a passion for delivering personalised antenatal education for parents-to-be so they feel empowered and ready for birth and parenting.

Dr Bamfo is a skilled Consultant Obstetrician with Subspecialist accreditation in Maternal and Fetal Medicine. In her current practice at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital NHS Foundation, she is Clinical Lead for both Fetal Medicine, Antenatal Screening and Preterm Birth Services. She has implemented a pivotal pre-term birth screening service as part of her Consultant-led care provision for mothers with ‘enhanced risk’ factors. She is a caring and compassionate Obstetrician and believes passionately in providing well informed choice to parents-to-be.
Dr Bamfo is the Director of the All About Pregnancy.
Dr Bamfo graduated from Imperial College School of Medicine and did her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in London and Manchester. She has worked at prestigious hospitals including Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital, Royal Free Hospital, Barnet Hospital, University College Hospital, King's College Hospital amongst others. She undertook a 3-year research fellowship at Harris Birthright Research Centre for Fetal Medicine, King's College Hospital, under the supervision of the world renowned Professor Kypros Nicolaides, successfully obtaining her Doctor of Medicine (MD) Research at the University of London.
Dr Bamfo completed Sub-specialty training in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Central Manchester University Hospital. Dr Bamfo has the Fetal Medicine Foundation certificates of competency in nuchal translucency measurement and cervical length measurement.
Dr Bamfo has published in peer-review journals and was Trainee Editor at the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology for 8 years. She has reviewed for Journal of International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG).
“I was a fourth year medical student when I was first introduced to maternal fetal medicine.
I learnt that pregnancy scans offered a unique insight into how the baby was developing at each stage of pregnancy and provided an
opportunity to intervene when things were not going as expected in high risk pregnancies.
I saw the challenges that some expectant parents experienced during their pregnancy journey and also the joy of bonding
between expectant parents when seeing their unborn babies.
Today I remain committed and passionate about providing exceptional informed and compassionate care to expectant parents
and their unborn babies, always being sensitive and respectful of their wishes.”
Dr Bamfo is well published in peer-review journals. For almost 10 years she was a Trainee Editor at the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has reviewed for the Journal of International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG). She attends pertinent international conferences and continues to participate in research studies (her research interests are hypertensive diseases of pregnancy, fetal growth restriction, preterm birth and large babies).
