“I was a fourth year medical student when I was first introduced to maternal fetal medicine.
I learnt that pregnancy scans offered a unique insight into how the baby was developing at each stage of pregnancy and provided an
opportunity to intervene when things were not going as expected in high risk pregnancies.
I saw the challenges that some expectant parents experienced during their pregnancy journey and also the joy of bonding
between expectant parents when seeing their unborn babies.
Today I remain committed and passionate about providing exceptional informed and compassionate care to expectant parents
and their unborn babies, always being sensitive and respectful of their wishes.”
Dr Bamfo is well published in peer-review journals. For almost 10 years she was a Trainee Editor at the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has reviewed for the Journal of International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG). She attends pertinent international conferences and continues to participate in research studies (her research interests are hypertensive diseases of pregnancy, fetal growth restriction, preterm birth and large babies). She is a keen teacher and organises local scan courses for other medical professionals. List of publications (hyperlinks)
